The other student then went on to say they liked Cast, to try and keep the conversation going. I gave up.

Balls knows. Surely the whole myth of new labour bringing about any kind of meaningful social change has been torn to shreds by the facts? By ignoring classes of people and focussing on individuals (means testing etc), lo!, classes of people have drifted in material terms. All the inequality of liberalism and bureacracy and propaganda of socialism.
